(Magnolia dianica)-michelia yunnanensis is a rare shrub or small tree of the magnolia family. can be grown in a sheltered position in the milder parts of the south. elsewhere should be grown as a wall shrub or where the winters are really cold in a tub filled with compost suitable for acid loving subjects., moving it under cover in winter, this shrub has magnificent flowers, large and heavily scented and is worth all the trouble . in very severe winters it may be damaged but will grow out of it. it is an expensive acquisition and is most definitely a shrub for the connoisseur
