Atlas Cedar (Cedrus atlantica) is a majestic evergreen conifer of the pine family (Pinaceae), native to the Atlas Mountains of Morocco and Algeria. It grows 30-40 m tall with a broad, layered crown, short needles in dense rosettes and upright, barrel-shaped cones; the blue-grey ‘Glauca’ form is especially prized in gardens. Slow but long-lived, it becomes one of the most imposing of all conifers with age.
