Tanacetum cinerariifolium seed

Tanacetum cinerariifolium seed

LATIN NAME: Tanacetum cinerariifolium

COMMON NAME: Pyrethrum

The pyrethrum holds its white, daisy-like flower heads with the yellow centres above the finely divided leaves, and the whole plant stands in the neat, leafy clumps. The upright, branching, perennial plant carries the finely divided, feathery, grey-green leaves and the many white, daisy-like flower heads with the golden-yellow centres through the summer, one of the fine, bright sights of the border, drawing the bees. The flowers have a very long record as the fine, natural insect-repelling flowers of the old gardens, and the plant is a fine, historic presence of the border. It is a plant of the open, sunny, deep, well-drained ground.

Scientific Research & Plant Biotechnology

The pyrethrum is a historic subject of the plant science, and the daisy-like heads keep showing up in the work on the natural plant compounds. The chemistry of the white, daisy-like flower heads, which carry the fine, natural compounds of the old practice, has been studied steadily, and it keeps appearing in the studies of the natural plant compounds, the daisy-like heads and the members of the daisy family. The feathery leaves and the neat habit have also made it a fine study plant, and the pyrethrum is a regular subject of the work on the daisy-like heads of the cool world.

Ecological & Economic Value & Wide Applications

The pyrethrum is a fine, bright plant of the border and the study collection. The many white, daisy-like flower heads with the golden-yellow centres open through the summer, one of the fine, bright sights of the border, drawing the bees, and the flowers have a very long record as the fine, natural insect-repelling flowers of the old gardens, the dried heads coming to the fine, natural powders of the old shops. It is one of the fine choices for the border, the herb bed and the study collection, and it has been written about in the agricultural and the botanical papers for the natural compounds and the very long record. It is a fine, bright plant of the open, sunny, deep, well-drained garden.

Give the young plants the deep, well-drained bed, and the daisy-like heads will open through the summer.

To grow the pyrethrum from seed, sow the small, greyish seeds across the surface of the deep tray of fine, gritty soil, without covering them, keep the tray in a bright, open spot and water gently, then set the young plants out in the open ground. The seedlings come through within a couple of weeks and grow on steadily. With the sun and the deep, well-drained ground, the daisy-like heads will open through the summer.

Il piretro della Dalmazia (Tanacetum cinerariifolium (Trevir.) Sch.Bip.)
