Cynodon dactylon seeds

LATIN NAME: Cynodon dactylon
COMMON NAME: Bermuda Grass
Bermuda grass is the tough, creeping grass of the warm fields, the one that holds the ground and the paths. The low, creeping, perennial grass spreads by the wiry runners, carrying the fine, grey-green leaf blades and the slender, digitate seed heads through the warm season, and it is one of the great, durable grasses of the warm regions. The grass is a fine, tough presence of the lawn, the pasture and the bank, standing the heat, the drought and the trampling with the ease. It is a grass of the open, sunny, well-drained ground.
Scientific Research & Plant Biotechnology
Bermuda grass is a tough, durable subject of the plant science, studied for the wiry runners and the way the grass stands the heat and the trampling. The breeding of the turf bermudas for the fine blades and the wear has been looked at closely, and it keeps showing up in the work on the warm-season turf, the pasture grasses and the members of the grass family. The digitate seed heads and the creeping habit have also made it a fine garden plant, and Bermuda grass is a regular subject of the studies of the durable grasses of the warm world.
Ecological & Economic Value & Wide Applications
Bermuda grass is a tough, creeping grass of the warm fields and the gardens. The wiry runners knit the ground of the lawns, the sports fields, the pastures and the banks, holding the soil and standing the heat, the drought and the heavy use with the ease, and the grass is one of the great, durable turfs of the warm regions. The grass also feeds the stock of the warm pastures, and it is one of the fine choices for the warm-season lawn. It has been written about in the turf and the agricultural papers for the durability and the warm ways, and it is a fine, tough grass of the open, sunny, well-drained ground.

To grow Bermuda grass from seed, sow the small, shiny seeds over the surface of a pot of moist seed compost, pressing them in lightly, keep the pot in a warm, bright spot and water gently. The seedlings show themselves within a couple of weeks and spread fast. With the sun, the warmth and the well-drained ground, the fine runners will knit the ground through the warm season.
Uses: herbs.
Cynodon dactylon has been studied at the University of Allahabad in India, and is reported to have antimicrobial and antiviral properties, and has been suggested for treatment of urinary tract infections, prostatitis, syphilis, and dysentery.Additional research is being conducted on C. dactylon involving its glycemic potential, which is involved in the treatment of diabetes. In laboratory rats treated with the ethanolic extract of defatted C. dactylon, hypoglycemic and anti-diabetic results were observed on the blood glucose levels of the tested population.Test populations showed nearly a 50% drop in blood glucose levels when the proper dosage was administered. This suggests the potential for Cynodon dactylon to become an alternative to current diabetes medications. Used in traditional cultures for toothache & amibiasis(dysentry)
