Asparagus plumosus seed
Asparagus Plumosus Nanus, often called ornamental asparagus or, quite incorrectly, “fern”, is an interesting houseplant from South Africa. Grows intensively, creating stiff, initially erect, and later hanging, lush green shoots. The shoots of pinnate asparagus are covered with needle-like, green formations called twigs, which give the plant a delicate appearance. The actual asparagus leaves are transformed into scales. It can bloom in the apartment, producing inconspicuous white flowers that develop into attractive red, but unfortunately poisonous berries. Asparagus Plumosus Nanus is a dwarf form of pinnate asparagus, particularly popular as a decorative addition in floristry and as a potted house plant.
